Overview:

Tax Gnome is a cloud-based application that allows customers to plan and manage taxation requirements in a pro-active manner through integration with online accounting packages. It takes dynamic, up-to-date accounting information to project future tax obligations with options to journal back the tax planning data into the accounting packages to provide more complete financial reporting.

Product/Service

Provides forward provisional and GST tax figures to allow the customer to accrue accurately in the management accounts
Provides dynamic snapshot of clients tax positions which can be used in management reporting
Provides clients with better knowledge and peace of mind in respect of the organisations tax obligations and timings.
The recent provisional tax changes announced are enhanced by the Tax Gnome offering.
Tax Gnome has the scope in future developments to include other accounting accruals not currently available in management reporting for example, holiday pay and FBT accruals.

Target Market

Tax Gnome has global potential; it can be scaled up to enterprise level and expanded internationally to any tax jurisdiction.
The initial target market will be those businesses who are using MYOB and XERO cloud based accounting systems.

For Customers: We will be able to sell this directly to individual businesses who handle their own monthly accounting and wish to manage their own tax savings and payment schedules.  

For Tax Professionals: This will be a significant value add for Accounting and Tax service providers.

Business Model

Our revenue model is based on a value based monthly software as a service subscription model

Project Status

Tax Gnome has been developed with assitance from Massey University e-Centre and Callaghan Innovation.
Tax Gnome is a registered trade mark and a patent application has been registered.
January 2017 - Tax Gnome undergoing pre-release testing with release to market due in Q3 2017
August 2017 - Tax Gnome releases the TaxGnome Income Tax Reckoner, individuls can now check online if they are due a tax refund.
